Did you see that you can add links to your comments on followed surnames and tags?

Hi WikiTreers,

When you explain your interest in a surname or tag to other members you can now link a WikiTree profile or external website in your comment. This comment is what appears on the index of members for that topic, and on your profile.

For example, I just added a link to my brick wall ancestor for the Howes surname. See the Howes Genealogists page.

It's done with the same "wiki markup"-style of links that we use on profiles and other types of comments. See Adding Links and Editing Tips.

Go to Special:Following to add or edit tags and comments on them.

Thank you to Michael Stills and others who suggested this.

By the way, another small related improvement we introduced last week: Thumbnail photos of new members in e-mail updates. When a new member joins and follows one of your followed tags, you see this in your daily Wiki Genealogy e-mail update, and now there's a photo too. I think it makes it more friendly, and all this is about making friendly connections between genealogists who share the same interests.

Cheers,

Chris
