I am the sixth generation of Joseph Wallace.  All I know is Joseph Wallace was born December 1817 in Belfast, Antrim, Northern Ireland.  He died in 1853 in Franklin, Venango, Pennsylvania, USA.  He married Jenny Hoover.  She was born May 10, 1819 in County Cork, Ireland.  She died in 1859 in Franklin, Venango, Pennsylvania, USA.   I have no other information.

I recently learned of Sir William Wallace.    Just wondering if us Wallace's in the United States are fin to him.  Can you help me.  Any thing would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Gayla Goetz

Hi, my great-grandmother was a Wallace, her family came from County Cork.

My view is we are all very unlikely to be related to Sir William Wallace - there must be many branches - like mine - with no connection at all.  Of course, you could be lucky and come from a line that can prove a link to him, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.  Sorry

there might be DNA projects out there that are looking into the Wallace family lines - have you researched this on the internet?
My dad was from Cork, his dad ,my great grandfather  and my great great grandfather were too. The rest of my relations are from Scotland and I am related to Sir William Wallace.  Mainly through marriage. There are quite a few Wallace’s in wales also.
