If there is one thing I would say to someone new to genealogy (what I would do if starting over) it is don't rush to copy everything you find on the internet. There is lots of bad info and mistakes out there. Prove each step with good sources and keep good records.  Part of the fun  of genealogy is the detective work that leads you to each new discovery.

Welcome to WikiTree and to the G2G Forum, Lisa!  There is a lot of information to explore here, so take some time to look around. I'm sure you will find may people here who are willing to help you along.  WikiTree has members from all over the world, so it is likely that you will find an expert here who can help you with any questions you have.

I wish to second everything that all of the others have said and add a couple of things.  First is take your time to learn the way things are done here, the dead are not going anywhere and new sources are being found everyday. Second is if you have not already found it familysearch.org is a good place to start when finding sources. It is free to use and has indexed records from a lot of other pay sites that you can use as well as providing images of some of the source documents which can sometimes have more information than what is indexed.
