Does anyone have further info on Bartelds and who he was?

He wrote 395 biographies in the Nieuw Nederlandsch Biografisch Woordenboek (NNBW) in the 19C. I'm trying to identify him as the source for data for several people, such as Bergh-58, Engela Apollonia Bergh 1756-1790, mother of the 19C Dutch statesman, Anton Reinhard Falck.

I had no info, but your question triggered me to do some ressearch. I am setting up a profile for him, Johan Christiaan Eleonor Bartelds.

Born 1861. Teacher, 1890-1905 in the Dutch colony of the East Indies (nowadays Indonesia). Married late: 1907, and had no occupation at that time, possibly retired.

Contributed to Volumes 7 and 8 of the NNBW, the Dutch counterpart of the British Dictionary of National Biography (DNB).

Passed away February 1928. He was admitted as a member of the Historisch Genootschap per January 1, 1928.

By the way: Had you tagged the question just dutch_roots (instead of dutch_roots_project), you would have been answered more speedy, as that is the tag all members of the Dutch Roots Project watch.
