I found this little book in a thrift store today:

Living Dekalb County History
The Diary of
Lewis W. Rude
DeKalb County, Indiana
For the Year 1864

Edited by Raymond H Lounsbury and John Martin Smith
c 1974 by Raymond H Lounsbury
Published by Knapp Abstract, Inc (Auburn, Indiana)

Raymond H Lounsbury was a descendant of Lewis W. and Mary A. (Baldwin) Rude and a retired professor living in Vermont.

Lewis Wilson Rude, b 1841 to Ariel and Sophia (Stoddard) Rude, married Mary Antoinette Baldwin of Susquehanna, PA, on 2 Jan 1864. They lived in DeKalb County, Indiana, until 1881 when they moved to Broome County, New York (just across the river from Susquehanna).

I have no known relationship to these people. I just couldn't leave the book in the thrift store. Is anyone looking for Lewis Rude, son of Ariel? Ariel Rude's siblings are listed as Anne (Rude) Shaw and Thomas Crandle Rude.
