Why do I keep getting "invalid WikiTree ID" when trying to add a new person?

Hi Susan and Welcome to WikiTree!

I'm not sure what you're asking, but if you're trying to add a parent or child whose LNAB (that's Last Name At Birth) is N to someone, then I think this is the answer you are looking for:

I am guessing that when you get the page to add the new family member, you tried to enter the letter "N" in the WikiTree ID space.  That space is where you can enter the WikiTree ID of someone whose profile is already on WikiTree to make the relationship between that person and the one you're working on.  A WikiTree ID is made up of a person's LNAB plus a hyphen, plus a number.  Mine is Gordon-4080 and yours is Braun-1676.

If you need to add a new person then you don't want to fill in the WikiTree ID box at all.  Instead, you want to scroll down below that box and add the person's data in the spaces provided.

Thank you, the N was a mistake and sent before I had corrected and finished. Didn't realize that I had to use the name also. I was just using the number. Got it now!

Another quick question, how can I remove anonymous from my watchlist?  It was a mistake and a merge was done. Now I would like to remove it.

If two profiles were merged, then only 1 will remain on your watchlist.  Here's how to make sure you really want to remove the profile, and then how to do it:

First, click the link on your watchlist  to open the profile page.  Look carefully at the profile to make sure it is one you want to no longer manage (or be on the trusted list for).

At the top of the profile, there are tabs.  Click the Privacy tab and scroll down to where the managers and members of the trusted list are shown.  For each person listed there, you will see a link to Remove as Manager.  You can click that to remove yourself as manager, but you will still be on the trusted list and the profile will still show up on your watchlist.  If you want to remove yourself completely, there is a button below the list that you can click to do that.  If you do that then the profile will no longer be on your watchlist.
