Disconnect or Merge Two Wives of Moses Rawlins?

After I completed a merger, Moses Rawlins has two wives listed, but they are obviously the same woman. One is Esther Unknown and one is Esther Surgent. In researching this woman I have found many sources that refer to Esther Rawlins with no maiden name listed. Esther is listed as the mother of Moses Rawlins' children in birth records on file in New Hampshire. The only mention of Esther Surgeon is in unsourced family trees found in FamilySource.org. 

I think that Moses should be listed in his profile with only one wife named Esther. My questions are:

1. Should this one wife be shown as Esther Unknown or Esther Surgent? and

2. Is is better to merge the two wives or to disconnect the one that is not listed in the profile?

In any case the alternatives would be described in the Research Notes.

I would:

Merge the two Esthers into Esther Unknown, and note strongly in her biography that the name Surgent has been associated with her and should be researched.
