I'm having no luck finding a reference to Rardin as an Irish name.  In the US, the name seems to be concentrated in the midwest.  There are Rardins in England.

A google search shows several places of origin for rardin.

If you use the ancestry.com link on the search ( http://www.ancestry.com/name-origin?surname=rardin )

It shows clickable links for:

Tuscany (1)
 Ireland (1)
 Germany (1)
 England (1)

Hope this helps

If you have reason to believe they may be Irish, consider that Rardin may be a misspelling of Riordan or Ríordáin, which are Irish names.
