Have an all access world membership pass to ancestry, as well as newspapers.com that expires on March 19th. I've got lots of free time this week, so... let's get this party started and find some ancestors!

hi again ^^ glad to know im not alone! i just fixed my tree and deleted the old one its the thompson123 on my profile i am looking for my dads dad but have little to go on, i know he immigrated here from irland (south africa) and i know my grandfather had siblings but i dont know who they  are ether its so frustrating O.o ,thanks again for your help!

I still can't make the leap to his parents. I would like to believe that's him in 1860 and 1870 but the birth date is off. I have yet to ask my dad to see if he thinks this might be plausible.

Hello Mary,

I have hit a brick wall with James Atley in trying to find his parents and his birth date.

I have him born 1844 in Portrane, Dublin, Ireland.

In 1861 UK Census he was a Seaman on a British ship in Home port.

Some time 1867 +/- three years, he was injured on board a ship to New Zealand, he was admitted to Dunedin Hospital but the ship sailed before he made a recovery.He must have stayed in NZ as I have him marrying a Agnes Matheson on 3 May 1870 in Queenstown, NZ. He was aged 26 and she 19.

Hi Mary, I am searching for info on my mother's side. My mother was Margaret Ellen Neville, born in Saskatchewan (CA) in 1916, and she passed in MI (US) in 1966. I cannot find her birth record. I found her on the 1940 census in MI, but her birthplace was incorrectly given as Ohio.

I am also trying to find her mother's family. My great-grandfather was Patrick Gallagher, born c. 1844 in Ireland. He married Margaret Vesey, born c. 1858 in Ireland. I found the whole family in both the 1901 and 1911 Irish census, and they lived in Tonatanvally, Achill Is., Co. Mayo. But I can't find anything more about Patrick and Margaret. Ancestry.com's free week of Irish records is of no use.

Anything you can find to steer me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated!!  Thank you.
