    Thank you for your reply.

There was one other child- Richard born 1863 at Ballygowan and baptised at Windgap.

As a child I visited my grandmother Annie Aylward, her sister Ellen and brother James who lived in Australia until their deaths in  1955 & 1956.

What I do not know - Who were the parents of John father to the above.

Do you know where I could access that information, (It is not in the Windgap parish records)
Richard Aylward was born 12 Feb 1863 at Ballygowan/Ponsonby and baptised on 13 Feb 1863 at Windgap Catholic Church The rest of the family were born at Ballytarsna and all baptised at Ballyhale Catholic Church. His sister Annie was my Grandmother who came to Australia in the late 1800's and married Michael Francis Smyth from Buckstown (Kilkenny) in St Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church West Melbourne (built by Rev Patrick John Aylward) by Annie's Uncle Rev.Patrick John Aylward on 22 June 1892; Michael's mother was Catherine Prendergast .
The parents of John Aylward who married Ellen Flin at Windgap were:- John Aylward & Judy Costello of Curabally (Crowbally). John was born on Nov 26 1831. Witnesses were Michael Aylward and Mary Connelly.
