Summer, can you add city, county and state to the profiles for the birth and death events please? People can help you look up information but they need to know this information. Also the more exact the date i.e. day and moth and year, the better. Thanks!

Yes, I'm in the process of all that.  I'm going as fast as I can!!  But, I have absolutely NO information on this man except his name. No date of birth, no record of residence, nothing.  I think his name was a nickname but of course I can't be sure. I do know Lena and Joseph (the husband) lived in Nashville, TN.  But where she came from, I do not know.

Could this be her:

Yes, that is her.  But her father is the problem.  I guess I should have linked the question to his profile.  Sorry, I'm still relatively new at all this.

Yes, I've actually contributed to that today.  Their daughter Elizabeth was my great grandmother!  :)

I'm trying to piece this together. Does this look right?

It looks like her mother was Nancy Emma Edwards 1854–1930 (Birth 3 JUL 1854 North Carolina - 26 OCT 1930 Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee, USA) daughter of John B EDWARDS 1819 and Mary Emma COPE (c 1830 Kentucky, USA - 1865 Knox, Kentucky). And she was buried in Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville. It says her husband was a farmer and died about 1900 - 1910 in Celina, Clay, Tennessee. Celina is a tiny town – it should not be hard to find his burial there and / or a mortuary notice. I see one tree lists his name as Andrew Carter.
She has a sister Laura Jane (Carter) Hicks, correct? If you look at her death record it also says the their father's name was Andrew Carter.
Yes!! Thank you. I'm not sure why exactly I haven't done that

There are death records for a few other Carters from this tiny town of Celina for example Elisha with father Hiram and I saw another one with a father of Hiram. I wonder if Hiram was Andrew's dad or uncle?

Elisha Carter Male Mar 1844 15 Jan 1916 Celina, Clay, Tennessee Hiram Carter
No telling!!!
Clay county death records are open on Ancestry.com. It would take some time but I bet if you searched them from 1900 - 1920 and looked for Andrew Carter you would have a good chance of finding him. Otherwise you can try to order a death certificate and ask for a search - I think they charge $10 per year to search for you.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Good luck with your search!
