: Joan (Jane) Ferrers, married John Clinton, they had one son, John [Lord Clinton and Say]. Royal Ancestry Vol. II, page 574

: Joan (Ferrers-79) profile show a second son, Thomas Clinton.
Question: What will the relationship trail show as your ancestor if Thomas is taken away? Will the relationship trail then show John as your ancestor?

Another one.  Fetch the big scissors.

We've got Jane married to John and carrying on with James.  I tried relating John to James in the RF and they were 9 generations different.

If Thomas is disconnected from his mother, what the RF will do depends on where you're starting and finishing and what other routes are available between the end-points.  Unlike the CF, it won't divert through a brother.

It'll still have routes available through Thomas's father James, but on the dates, that line also needs the scissors somewhere.

Thomas's profile says he was born 1420 and died 1336.

The death looks right I think.  But there's a century gone missing in the daughter Petronilla department.  I think she needs detaching from her husband and kids and sending back to her own century.  If she married a John Woodward, it was a different one.  The later one, if he existed, probably married Unknown Unknown.

Seen a few married to their grandmothers, but it's looking like this one might have married his gggg-gm.
Can see what they've done now.  Conflate two different Woodwards, losing a few generations, leave off the dates on Thomas and Petronilla, and you can make Thomas be the son of Joan Ferrers and send off your application to Daughters of Charlemagne.

Think your right, RJ Horace! We will need to "Fetch the big scissors" to use with the Clinton, Ferrers and Woodward relationship trail!

Time to go to "Plan B!"
Cut! :-)
