I'd start by pulling up your profile of William and do a match search.  You'll find a yellow magnifying glass towards the end of a string of links right after his name.  This will pull-up all profiles with the same name.  You can see if anyone else has included him in their tree already.  Great way to find "cousins!"  For any proposed matches that you know beyond a shadow of a doubt are not a match select "reject match"  This really helps the Wiki team in our mission for one world-wide tree and prevents a lot of headaches down the road.

Next, you may want to consider posting William on the Welsh Immigrants to America Category page.  That way if anyone else is looking for Welsh relatives they will see William and mayge you'll catch a tip that way.  To add the link to your page copy/paste the following in the text box.  I generally type mine right at the top.  It isn't visible to people viewing your page unless they're in "Edit" mode so it can go anywhere.  I just find it easier to keep track of them there.
