Jacob Oxford Jr Adkins Parentage Part of the United Kingdom or Southern Colonies Project?

Ok so I am confident in my research that I have the correct Dicy Adkins as married to Jacob Oxford Adkins Jr.

However Jacobs parentage seems to be conflicting and I was wondering if there is any current info on the names ive found hes connected with. As usual I started my search on public trees on ancestry. I know that is a poor source to be making profiles from alone, but I find it a good place to start and check information against. Unfortunately the parentage I found is, infact, poorly sourced but does pose some interesting information if either parentage is correct. Therefore I would like the help of a more experienced genealogist to confirm or deny this information.

In one tree Jacob Oxford Jr Adkins (married to Dicy Adkins. This information so far i have determined to all be correct) born 1802 in Montgomery Giles Virginia died 1857 in wayne augusta virginia father Jacob Oxford Sr. Adkins Mother Phoebe Bradshaw. To the extent of sourced research and checking against other family trees and their sources for correctness I am confident this information so far is correct.

This is where it spilts. Jacob Oxford Senior Adkins is listed as the son of Joseph Aiken and Mary Parker Bennett. Joseph Aiken born 1725 in Henrico Virginia in 1725 died 1810 in giles virginia. Son of William V Aiken born in henrico virgina 1699 and died in henrico virginia 1754.

The second has Jacob Oxford Adkins Jr. as son of Jacob "Earl of Oxford" Harley and Mary Adkins. Jacob Earl of Oxford Harley was born in 1730 in Jamestown virginia and died in sussex virginia 1754. He is listed as married to a Sarah Middleton. His father is listed as Sir Robert Earl of Oxford Harley born dec 6 1661 in england and death 21st of may 1724 in greater london, london, surrey, UK. Married to a Elizabeth Foley.

I have a Jacob Harley (Harley-36) married to a Mary Adkins so the second one very well could be his lineage.

Thank you in advance for any information you are able to come up with. Second opinions and extra hands are always highly appreciated :)

Just remember there was no Jacob Oxford Adkins, Jr. or Sr. since there was no Earl of Oxford or anyone named Jacob Harley that has been proved to be associated with this family.  The name was Jacob Adkins (no Oxford).  You can begin cleaning up your tree by removing all instances where you see Oxford and Harley because absolutely nothing exists to support these names and, considering the DNA results I've already mentioned, there never will be.  The best reference for this family is a book written by Ronnie Adkins titled "From the Land of York to Beech Fork."  It is no longer available but there are people on the Adkins Facebook page who have copies and are usually willing to look up questions like yours.
