Adkins Family of Virginia/ West Virginia

Question

Hi. My name is Geri VanAuken (nee' Adkins)

I have been working absolutely tirelessly on the Adkins family of Virginia/West Virginia. Most of the profiles going further back do not belong to me. So far my research is turning up that alot of the existing information going back is incorrect. I believe what I have found to be correct. When i am finished with my research how do i upload it to wiki tree and what do i do about all of the incorrect information?

Geri, I encourage you to add sources for each of the changes/corrections you find.

I fear (?) you've hooked me with this Adkins family, and my perusal of things so far indicates that much data already on here (and perhaps elsewhere on Ancestry, Worldconnect, etc.) may be relying on unsourced publications. Have you read the two that Harry Adkins mentioned in that other g2g discussion thread?

Links to take on-line genealogy courses & many other good tools. I watched two 5 min videos last night at: https://familysearch.org/learningcenter/home.html  these will help you sort your information in a logical manner.

 A life long hobby of mine is gold prospecting, metallurgy, refining, gemolgy, numismatics(coin collecting & minting) etc... . There is an expression for some rocks/minerals/gems that we find. " Leave-A-Rite" = Leave It Rite where you found it, it is worthless. Enjoy, John
