The Case of the disappearing Father

I'm not sure where or how I should label & tag this - hopefully it's not me being way too tired.  I have  come at this situation (maybe a previous bad merge) from a couple of different angles: Cooke-718 has two parents Buckner-3 and Cooke-719; but when I click on her Mom - she only has one husband Garrett-54. Only when I first go to her father Cooke-719 do I find his wife to be Buckner-181. Now I would think to suggest a merge of Buckner-181 into Buckner-3 BUT the spouse-timelines don't fit.

The first thing I would do is source Jemima Cooke, determining who her correct parents are: Mordecai or someone else and Francis or Elizabeth. Then disconnect her from both parents (even if you think they're right) and reconnect her to the correct parents. Buckner-181 and Buckner-3 may not be the same people, they may be sisters.

You can view the book on HathiTrust.  There's a Buckner book as well.  Didn't see any actual recorded facts in them though.

My guess would be, detach Jemima from parents and change LNAB to Unknown.

Then do the same for Garrett's wife.

Then do the same for half the wives in 17th century America.

And a lot of the Buckner kids aren't theirs.
