You are not likely to find a 1942 marriage certificate online, due to privacy issues. I would suggest you try to pinpoint where the marriage took place. Then contact that place (the town or county) to find out on what level (town, county, state) the records are kept and then acquire a copy that way. If they were likely to have married in church, churches also keep records, here again you will need to know where and what denomination, or you're searching for a needle in a haystack

Thanks but I cannot figure out where they were married. He was living in Wadsworth Ohio with his parents and working in Kentucky. She was living  with her mother in Vanceburg Kentucky and working. They ran off and married because she was pregnant with my dad. The never admitted this but he was born 6 months later. It was during war and he left soon after. I know his mom cried when she found out they were married. Everyone is dead so no one to ask. They did not ever say much due to the secrecy of the situation and times. I will keep searching.
