What info is there about the change of GEDmatch IDs for Family Finder testers?

The following is currently posted at GEDmatch:

Note that existing 'F' (FTDNA) kit numbers on GEDmatch will be changed to 'T' followed by a random kit number. This will probably happen in the next few days. This change does not affect Ancestry or 23andMe kit numbers. If you need to make copies of your results with the old kit numbers, please do so now. Name and email information for matches will stay the same, and can be used to retain continuity in your records.

I imagine an active Wikitree Family Finder tester will make this update themself.  I  wonder if we can get a group of volunteers to contact less active users? (To encourage them to make their update). I can provide a list of all WikiTree Family Finder users who have "old" GEDmatch IDs.

Thanks and sincerely,

That list you say you can create will be a Good Thing, Peter. With a collection of names and old Gedmatch kit numbers, there will be a realistic chance of finding the people in Gedmatch once again, even if we don't succeed in getting the users to update.
Peter, do you know how we will be notified of the new GEDmatch kit number?  As of last night I was still able to use my original kit number.
I don't know when GEDmatch will make the change.  I expect someone will relay the notice by posting it here on G2G.
I would suggest that the list of old to new be maintained for future reference - (in case you did not already mean to do this)

It would be very, very helpful to post step, by step instructions for updating as not all users are at the same technological confidence level.

Since the change happened I have been able to produce reports using the old and new ID numbers.  Whilst only new T numbers appear in reports, one to ones and matching segment searches still seem to work using the old F numbers!  That is great, isn't it!!

My Family Tree "F" number was changed to a "T" number by GEDmatch several weeks ago. I've had no problems with the change. I belong to the Cajun Cousins Genealogy & DNA Facebook group. Most Family Tree testers manually changed their numbers in the group's  files, but when I've entered numbers for matches on GEDmatch, "F" numbers of members who still have not entered new "T" numbers continue to function for matching. That could change any time, I suppose.
