It's not clear to me what you are asking.

One of the Goals of the Magna Carta Project is below ...
Goal: To have a reviewed/approved trail from every
Gateway Ancestor to a Magna Carta Surety Baron.

The question is 'is there any interest in having more than one pathway from a Gateway Ancestor to a Magna Carta Surety Baron?'

The post question shows three (3) possible pathways to a MCSB from the Gateway Ancestor Hawte (Wyatt-188).
1. Margaret (Ros-8) Tuchet to Robert (Ros-162)
2. Richard (FitzAlan-29) to Robert (De_Vere-309)
3. Richard (FitzAlan-29 to Saher (Quincy-226)

Thank you very much for your reply :-)

Thanks for explaining. I should think most people would want the shortest, but it's good to have them all for the sake of completeness.

The Magna Carta base camp states that "Please pick one that is ready to get started before working on additional trails for a favorite Gateway Ancestor!"

I believe the idea is that the gateway ancestors usually have several Magna Carta Surety Barons that they are descended from. As we badge more and more profiles and they begin to intersect, the end result is becoming that we end up with gateway ancestors in multiple lines already. Once a gateway ancestor has a badged line--we move to the next gateway ancestor. In theory, you could continue researching a line, but with limited group member establishing and reviewing lines, it wouldn't be practical. On the other hand, Liz or one of the other group leaders would probably have the most concise response. : )

A number of Gateway ancestors have paths to more than one Magna Carta surety baron.  These paths once they have a reviewed/approved trail between the Gateway ancestor and Magna Carta baron are badged and categorized according to the surety baron they descend from.  The Gateway ancestor can be listed in more than one category.
