Greetings to all of the members of the United Kingdom Project,
Just a short note about my interest in this Project: !) While serving in the USAF and later with my Aviation position, I've been able to visit the land where a lot of my ancestors came from. Looking back on my life, I now realize that I've walked on the same streets & soil of people I only knew from History. Some 40-45 years ago, I became interested in my family lineage and began to slowly pick at it in a piece meal manner. About 20 years ago, I began a serious study of my American lineage, knowing all the time that it would lead back to the British Isle. I was amazed to learn that one of my class mates and a cousin, had a straight line back to Berkshire, England. Her paternal imigrant was Christopher Branch, who was the first of his family to undertake the long voyage from England to Jamestown, arriving 1623 with his wife and one child. Later I discovered out family lineage going back to England, Scotland, Wales and Europe. I'm looking forward to working with all of you as we slowing dig & sort thru the ever enlarging families for each member of this group. It also helps me in that I majored in History, altho not to this depth.
Ted
