Have you seen how awesome Sourcerers are?

Hi WikiTreers,

I love it when members highlight the awesome things that other members are doing.

I specifically ask the other WikiTree Team Members (Eowyn, Erin, Abby, and Paul) to point out to me when they see great things going on. WikiTree has become so big -- community members are contributing in so many different ways -- that I miss a lot.

Yesterday Abby e-mailed the team about the Sourcerers. This is what she wrote:

"I was just going through the Sourcerers thread for this month, which I try to do weekly to award badges to new participants and I see a couple trends which lead me to think that these are some of our most treasured members.

"Sourcerers help each other out, a lot. They are helping improve profiles of folks they have no connection to at all. If someone says something about a certain surname or area related to what they show a talent for, they jump on helping those folks. Even though they've gotten some negative feedback from folks whose profiles they've improved (which is so discouraging. February was rough for that behavior for whatever reason), they reply politely and keep on improving, just redirecting if necessary. Many of them do a fantastic job also adding biographies and cleaning up profiles as they go. New members keep showing up there and they learn a lot from other members in doing so. They encourage each other even as they are competitive in a fun way.

"This month is shaping up to be our biggest yet. I am not sure what's in the air, but we're on our third page of contributions and I think it may take me all day to get through the tallying next week, which is a good problem to have. That group of folks definitely holds some of our best WikiTreers, by spirit and contributions."

Go, Sourcerers!

So, now that you've heard what a great group we have, why don't you join us?  It's not too late to contribute to the March Challenge, and get in the mood for the upcoming April Challenge.  Every profile improved is a win for WikiTree!

I'm grateful for the opportunity to make a contribution to the larger Wikitree purpose.  When I get stuck with anything in my work or life, there is the opportunity here to accomplish something for the greater good, and that is so very satisfying.  And I like puzzles.
Thanks, Star and Mary :-)
