I don’t know if anyone can help me.  My mother was born Patricia Ann Clark on August 7, 1927, she was later adopted at age 3 by Henry and Ella Sharrow of Gloversville, NY.

My mother passed away in 1972, and there are no surviving relatives.  I am hoping that you can help close the open book of where my mother was born and possible family members.

My mother had brown eyes, brown hair, had a small build and was left handed.

I recently had a DNA test on ancestry.com and matches came up in Alabama.  I did contact Vital Statistics in Hunstville, ALAbama, and there was no record on her birth.

I hope someone may have some information to help me.

Thank you,   Marj Jones

Add your AncestryDNA results to both FtDNA ($39 I think) and GEDMATCH (free). These will give you two more places to search.

There are also groups on FaceBook that specialise in this type of search although I can't recall the names of them.

Wow this is strange. I was looking up my mothers information cause I wanted to trace her and my dads lineage back to get information on my ancestors. My mom's name is Patricia Ann Clark and she was born in 1972, the same year your mom passed.

My paternal Grandmother was born in the same time period ; Margaret Clark in Denville NJ. She is still living and in her 90s. Her mother was Ireland born and died during childbirth.  So she was raised by members of her father's family, the Clarks. They are a large family that settled in North Jersey early colonial times. I've only recently began seriously working on my ancestry but there is a lot of information on that Clark family branch. The core of the family is Denville, Essex, Rockaway in Morris and Essex counties North NJ . My DNA is posted feel free to check and see if that helps
