Actual LNAB for Alva Erskine Smith?

I've improved the profile for Alva Erskine Smith, included categorizing her as a Notable. However, one thing irks me, her last name at birth. All the documentation I have found shows Erskine as her middle name and Smith as her last name, nothing has shown that her last name was ever Erskine-Smith. Before I go changing her last name at birth, does anyone know of any reason why I shouldn't? Normally I would just go ahead, but there MUST be a reason the original PM added her that way, right?

From Wikipedia:

Alva Belmont (January 17, 1853 – January 26, 1933), née Alva Erskine Smith, and known as Alva Vanderbilt from 1875 to 1896, was a prominent multi-millionaire American socialite and a major figure in the women's suffrage movement.[1] Known for having an aristocratic manner that antagonized many people,[2] she was also noted for her energy, intelligence, strong opinions, and willingness to challenge convention.[3] She was married first to William Kissam Vanderbilt, with whom she had three children, and secondly to Oliver Hazard Perry Belmont.

Thanks Frank. :) You'll notice that Wikipedia is one of the sources I used on her profile. It states that her father was Murray Forbes Smith and her mother was Phoebe Ann Desha. No "Erskine-Smith." I'm thinking this was an Ancestry goof up that someone uploaded into WikiTree.

Now I sure hope everyone doesn't go around assuming that her father's last name was Forbes-Smith and her mother's was Ann-Desha!
