Unsure of category

I'm unsure of where to add my GGGF for his invention/innovation (the box spring mattress) You can see his profile below. I initially added him to the Category:Invention and Innovation but I'm sure that's a higher level. There is no sub level he falls under. Can someone help? Thanks.

Well, you could always invent your own subcategory.  Something like Home_Products or Furniture. There are directions on how to create them under Help.  You might want to look at the existing categories and see what is under other near miss subcategories, if you haven't already.

Thanks Dave,

I'm leery of doing such things and risk messing up someone's project!  I will take a look at that momentarily!

I've tried and tried and I can't seem to get it right. I want it to go under the Invention and Innovation > Furniture History (new subcat) but I cannot figure it out. Even following the instructions !!!

George,

At the current time the best category is Category: Wisconsin Inventors which you already have.

Nice to see the patent material.  Something to consider would be a category of Patent Holders which has not been created.  I'm not sure where this one would fit, perhaps under Inventors.  While they are not the same, it is possible that Patent Holders would be seen as duplicating material under Inventors.  Perhaps others looking at categories have some thoughts.

Hi Phillip,

Thanks for the advice.  You are correct - they are not the same thing but it can be difficult to figure out where to put it.  I would think Inventions and Innovations, under a sub cat of patents or furniture, as someone else suggested. Since he may not have actually invented it, but at least holds the patent for "refining" it.
