I am searching for Georgina M. A. Dolan (nee Usherwood) married in Torbay, Devon UK in 1969

I have been told that Georgina Margaret Ashley Dolan moved to Portugal (possibly the Algarve District) in around 2006/2007.

Finding 'lost' friends living in Portugal is a nightmare!

Whilst I totally agree with and appreciate your Policy on personal Privacy, I wonder if you could just help me a little further in my search for Georgina M. A. Dolan. The Dolan Family being so vast, could you please let me know the two middle names of Georgina? I assume they must be on the Birth Registration and The Marriage Register?

This will give me a great help/boost in searching through UK Voters Lists and Census information.

Hi, Thanks for the information. I had Georgina's Parents Marrying in Eash Ham during 1940. Now I know it was Romford.

 

I may have got the missing middle names . . . There is a Georgina MARGARET ASHLEY Dolan who was born January 1946 and I think, living in Royston, Herts or St. Ives Cambridge. I can't find any other information other than she retired in 2005 and was a Secretary for the company Gables (Hastingwood) Management Company Limited (The) and worked there from 1992 until 2005 - I just can't find an address or email or Facebook page for her - YET!

Are there any other previous birth records for her brother(s)?

Although it seems odd that Robert was born so far away from East London - perhaps his mother was evacuated?

Georgina Margaret Ashley Dolan (nee Usherwood) born 2/1/1946 I have now been told, has moved to The Algarve District of Portugal (probably in 2006/2007). I have therefore hit a brick wall. She would appear not to have a fixed telephone line and so is not within the Telephone Directory of Portugal. I don't know if she is renting a property (which seems likely) or has purchased a home but I can't find any way into the records of such things in Portugal.
I have managed to find Georgina's youngest daughter, Eleanor M. A. (37), who married Andrew J. Wilson in 2000 - I am trying to get confirmation of their address but I believe it is in Mill End, Bredon, Tewkesbury. Once I have the address confirmed I will write to Eleanor in the hope that she will let me know where her mother now resides.

I have written to Georgina's daughter Eleanor, three times this year, giving all my contact details and asking her to pass them on to her mother but I have had absolutely no response from her, even though I included a stamped and addressed reply envelope for her. I can only therefore assure either that she does not have any contact with her mother or, her mother does not want to contact me - a pity though that she could not even let me know!

That kind of "no response" thing happens sometimes. I have had similar experiences. You don't really know why, but an answer is not forthcoming.
