Marriage location

It doesn't make any sense that Lydia Bailey would go to Providence, RI to marry Peter Turneaure.  I would like to know what source was used for this information.  I went through the RI, vitals...and though many Lydia Baileys..none married a Peter Turneaure.  I haven't been able to track down any info with regards to their marriage.  We can confirm by the death certificates of her children, that she and Peter were their parents.  But I've not seen any evidence of her parents names.  There also seems to be some confusion with a Lydia Ballou also.  I'm wondering if there is any chance Lydia Bailey was from one of the Native American groups in Western NY. Unfortunately it does appear that she died before 1820, and of course Federal census records do not include names of anyone but head of household.  I would love more information, sources or links! Thanks!!

If you look at her profile it says she was married in NY?
Well there is information about Peter Turneaure being in Upstate New York. So I looked up Providence in NY which makes sense. Much more so than RI. Maybe some people have added that error. Lydia is common enough and so is Bailey and so maybe some info merged together. I would like to find the sources used to compare it all. Like where is Lydia from?
Suggest you read the profile again -- as Chris notes, there is no mention of Lydia being married in Rhode Island, but rather likely meeting her husband in the Broadalbin, NY area. What is currently available publicly is documented, with the links to the original sources -- so sources and links are all there! Please review these first and then see if you can add any additional information to improve it -- it's definitely meant to be a collaborative effort!

You might try to correspond through the private messaging system with the Lydia Turneaure Profile Manager.  Your email would be visible to that person only, and the manager seems likely to have the most information.

Collaboration is the key!  -NGP
