Disproving a fact not researched by myself

I am cleaning profiles I added in a .ged file given to me by a now dead relative. I came across this profile (http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Klee-163) which has in the biography she was born in Villeparisis, France on 28 December 1876. I have tried finding her in shipping lists using the information provided that she was aboard the Wennington arriving at  Port Chalmers, Dunedin, New Zealand. Looking at the shipping list there is no Klee's listed but there were sterrage passengers not listed. Searching on https://bdmhistoricalrecords.dia.govt.nz for Klee births in 1876 finds her listed with the parents in the profile. She is my 1st cousin four times removed third wife so not a blood relative.

Before I change the profile to reflect this new information I would like to disprove the France birth. Can anyone point me to were I might be able to find birth information in France??

Thanking you

Darren, you might want to take a look at the following links and or maybe contacting the originators.  Apparently some extensive research (and books) have already been done re the Klee's of France (New Zealand) and they might be able to point you in the right direction. (It looks like the marriage cert for 1st marriage has her born in France.  As parents married in Villeparisis, she would be about 3 at arrival, so likely born there..

Mother appears to be Emelie Josephine Boulonnois (1847-1884) http://genealogy.eproject.co.nz/getperson.php?personID=I510&tree=Base1 (for which the 1st link has the marriage cert.)

Family History center has 2 available (Both contain links for World Cat)

- Church Records (1668-1792) https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/556506?availability=Family%20History%20Library

- Civil Registers 1792-1885  https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/556533?availability=Family%20History%20Library

- To search online copies of ten year indexes, 1792-1902, parish registers, beginning to 1792, and civil registration, 1793-1885, click http://archives.seine-et-marne.fr/archives-en-ligne (as of 8 April 2009).

P.S.  Looks like this might be the "Brother Emile" born New Zealand at Waitati on 28 December 1876

Hope that helps some.

Regards, Sandy

Thank you this is much appreciated. The third link though has got the same information I had which was causing me concern. It has Emelie  being born in 1876 yet she was on board the Wennington arriving in 1875 aged 3. I will have to contact the people involved to correct that hiccup in information.

Have you tried searching birth records for Seine-et-Marne? I would guess that would be the best bet.

Good luck!
