Would like to find a list of Selman passengers that came over to the U.S. on ship of Lafayette.
by David Selman G2G Astronaut (1.3m points)
Could you give more information? I would need the approximate year and also where they sailed from and where they settled even if you don't know where they landed.
Any one with the Selman surname from England / Wales to the Americas from 1500 to 1600. Mainly trying to tract the imagration of Selman's to America from England and Wales. John Selman born 1574 Stinchcombe, Glouceshire, England, William Selman 1610. Had read in my research some Selman's sailed to America aboard a ship of Lafayette but can not find the article now.
That helps. Thanks.

Your welcome and thanks in advance for any help you can give. I am researching my own ancestors as well as for the Selman Interest Group.

This is what I've found so far. Is this the type of thing you can use? BTW I've not found ship Lafayette.

I should have been more clear in my question about Lafayette, this was the man who set up the voyage, purchased the ship and captains name who sailed the ship to America, do not know the name of the ship. Thank you for the information and links, will see if I can find the book at our library or online. Yes it is the type of info I am looking for.
Thank you D. Smith
I have sent information in an email with attachment. I hope it gets to you. will now look for ships Lafayette came over on.
What I sent you was too long and was returned to me. Would it be possible for you to send me your personal email and I'll send it that way, assuming there is not length limit.
I will send you my personal e mail address through your profile page. Thank you for all the help.

My great great grandfather George Slade is listed in the 1901 census as having migrated from England to Canada in 1866 along with his son, my great grandfather George William Slade. My great great grandmother Selina Slade is listed as having migrated in 1867. Selina may have been accompanied by Selina Louisa Slade (born 1865 in Mayfield, Sussex, according to FamilySearch, but I haven't added her to WikiTree because I haven't been able to determine whether her parents were my George and Selina Slade).

I have never been able to find any of them in passenger lists (either in Canada or the United States), and would very much like to do so.
