I cannot find Charles Nixon's parents

Question

I have hit a dead end. Charles Nixon born 1810 in Greenwich Township, Warren, New Jersey USA (I think) died 1891 Susanville, Lassen, California USA What I know is he is in the 1830 census at a boardinghouse in where we think he was born. He lists his birth in New Jersey on all census and 1810 in most 1811 in one. I do not know where he was born or when. I do not know who his parents were either. He married Catharine Celesia Hanchett 19 Aug 1832 and in 1850 he left  for the gold rush in California. They divorced in 1863. They had 3 children Luther Calvin, Charles H, and Elizabeth Mauretta. Wife and kids stayed in Ohio and he became first merchant in Susanville with first store. Any help on his parents and birth would help.

An adventurer, Charles Nixon came from New Jersey at the time of the opening of the Ohio & Erie Canal. He met and married Catharine Celestia Hanchett. He had three children with her, Charles H, Luther Calvin and Maretta Elizabeth Nixon. About 1850 with the gold rush, Charles went west to look for gold and ending up providing water for the town of Susanville. He had many trades throughout the years, intially starting life as a farmer until his father-in-law, Heman Hanchett, taught him the carpentry trade. In California he was known for being a carpenter. In 1863 Catharine got a divorce from Charles. Charles died in Susanville in 1891.  Luther Son of Charles Nixon of NJ and Catharine Celestia Hanchett. After his father left for the gold rush in California post 1850, Luther became a farmer by trade. He inherited the family farm in Wadsworth but by 1886 went to Teegarden, Indiana where land was cheaper and more plentiful.  Charles Nixon has his Parents listed as both born in New jersey according to 1880 Calif Census 1882 Voter in Calif Charles Nixon Residence Year: 1882 Residence Place: Lassen, California Age: 72 Birth Year: abt 1810

I thought so, but the only thing I noticed was it says parents born in New Jersey as listed in 1880 census
