How can Sarah Chapman d. 1738 be listed as the parent of Dan Chapman b. 1744/1745?

I have found a listing for Sarah Chapman death being 1738. she was married to John and there is a son listed as being born in 1744/1745 and his mother being Sarah and his father being John.  Saybrook, Conn.

I found another listing on a genealogy tree that says she died before 1808.  not real clear.

How can she have had a son after she died?   searching for definitive proof of her death date.

Hi Martha,

I was unable to find any of the profiles you mentioned above on WikiTree.  We do have a "Dan" but it is not the correct one you mention.  The only Daniel we have born in 1744 has a mother named Marcy, not Sarah.  I looked a few other directions too, but to no avail.

You you possibly help identify where on WikiTree this information is posted?  We'd like to help get it corrected.

Thank you!
If it's on another Website, It's still obviously faulty information but not something I'm able to help correct :)

Too put things in perspective ,This is 20 years before Revolutionary War

with England.Another issue is there can be many people with same names

in a given area.Family trees often often are long on names, but very short

on facts and sources,There is a record,Connecticut Town Birth Records

Pre 1870  Barbour Collection.Dan Chapman Born Jan 26 1744,Father John,

Mother Sarah.Have not found there records.

There is always the possibility that a Sarah, wife of John died and he remarried another Sarah.

This Sarah (Brown) Chapman died 1738, but at Stonington, CT, has no child named Daniel.  http://www.wikitree.com/treewidget/Brown-4361/300

Not sure this is the profile you are referencing?
