Thank you Helmut! I didn't realize Bad Kreuznach was a county. Interesting! Do German counties  represent areas once ruled by a Count? Here in the United States, County is a subdivision of a state. I am trying to learn the divisions of German jurisdictions. I am used to Stadt and Landkreis, but how does a county fit into the jurisdictional hierarchy please/
The correct German name is "Kreis", county is the equivalent political entity in the States. A county in the traditional sense would be "Grafschaft" and there are indeed some modern counties based on the territories of traditional counties which is usually reflected in the name (Landkreis Grafschaft Bentheim). But you are correct it should be Landkreis Bad Kreuznach.
