Photos used without permission. Copyright violation.

Question

I am finding photos that I took being used on this site without giving credit to the source where I posted them (FindAGrave). This is a serious. Who do I contact to have my photos removed? this is in clear violation of the rules of this site.

Wikitree takes this seriously - they should remove them promptly if you email them (below). Also contact the profile manager. Let them know if you prefer to delete the photos or add credit and keep them. They will do whichever you wish.

I'd like to draw attention to the following: the person who takes/owns the photograph is not always the FindAGrave memorial manager. I have taken well over 20K headstone photos and many of them appear on memorials that are managed by others. I still retain ownership.

Correct. I was actually referring to the profile manager of the profile on Wikitree that has the photo attached to it. They may be able to take care of the problem instantly. Be sure to let them know if you want credit added or the photo deleted so they are clear on which action you prefer. Either way email info@wikitree.com since they are ultimately responsible for take down notices. But sometimes individual profile managers are faster to respond. You can contact the PM by going to the profile with the photo and clicking on the [send private message] next to the profile managers name. In some cases there may be more than one manager and you would want to send the note to all of them in case some are no longer active.
