Charles (Patterson ) m Emma Ward.. Charles born Carl ??????????

This more of a statement/comment then a question.

About Our "Patterson clan who are a German line....

Carl , whom we don't know much about him as most dead or not sharing /passing down.He came to Australia circa 1859 via believe mail steamer Mauritius according to his naturilisation (1898) papers.

He was a miner in Ballarat living in Albert street. He died 1898 due to miners disease & is buried Independant at new Ballarat cemetery in a unmarked grave with children & grandkids including daughter, Alice Dora Patterson.

He married in Ballarat at Skipton st Ballarat Christian church in 1867 to the daughter of Isle of Wight  uk couple Edward Moormon Ward & (Eds first of 3 wives ),Charlotte Pitts ( Carl /Charles married their daughter Emma).

Carl's middle name is believed to be Frederick but have no evidence.

Wife Emma changed name to Patterson.

His marriage cert says his father his Henry

It says his mum was a Mary Canute I believe this maybe misspelt or something isn't right as I cannot find a Carl born to such in Hamburg Germany c 1840.or this such couple ...something is incorrect!.

Carl's death cert gives his dad as Carl ????. Or he was  Illigitimate ??? Something isn't right anyways...

With little info it's hard.

Siblings if any are unknown

Family rumour says Henry was a farmer from Lubeck Schleswig Holstein

Australian marriage cert gives Henry as a farmer.

Carl's naturilisation or death or will etc give no clues at all that have resulted

in positive results etc no more than what I've added here.

I'm talking my husband (Michael who is the great great grandson of Carl ) into DNA testing Carl's son Frederick Charles d 1937 Ballarat Benovolent as Charles Patterson was hubbys great grandfather , & freds  ,daughter Gladys/Thelma Patterson is hubbys grandma.& her daughter was  dawn lorraine Patterson & Dawn was hubbys mum.

So pretty much just wanted to say our "Patterson mob"we're/part German. So now we will just have to do that DNA test.

Overton Heidi & Michael.
