And I did a check under his names and can't find him.

I think his proper name is Joseph Medicine Crow-High Bird, but his short name is Joseph Medicine Crow or Joe Crow/CrowJoe.

If anyone wants to work on him, I discovered awhile back that ancestry.com has the US Indian Census online. For those with subscriptions, it's a great resource. Taken every year; lists maiden names at least some years. Definitely available during this man's lifespan. It helped me immensely, building a cluster of profiles around (Notable) Miguel Trujillo. At least it worked for these New Mexico tribal members, though it an be tricky sorting out which tribe each individual is actually enrolled in.

He is on Wikipedia and Find a Grave has two sites with a lot of History, he was an Amazing Man, buried at Apssalooke Veterans Cemetery in Big Horn Co. Montana
Thanks for reminding me that this profile never got entered. His profile is in there now. If anyone wants to update it, please do so.

Thanks.

I saw an interview with him a couple of years ago.  It was fascinating, especially his recounting of stealing the German's horses. We've lost a great repository of history with his passing.

Kellie, if you can remember where you saw the interview, it might be possible to find it online. If so, it would be a wonderful source to be able to include in the profile.
Had to rack my brain on what I was watching.  The interview with Chief Joe Medicine Crow was from Ken Burns series The War.  There is a clip on you tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_9-arto8D8 that has just the interview.
