Private sandboxes?

Would it be possible for users to have a private "sandbox" area within wikitree?

I'd like to use wikitree to store some preliminary research into a specific historical parish but the data is very sparse and not well-sourced. I also don't want to be constrained by the pre-1700 and pre-1500 rules. Eventually I would hope most of the data would become rich enough to transfer to the main tree but initially I'd just like a sandbox separate from the main tree and not subject to the same rules and policies.

Absolutely Matthew!

Just create a free space page and make it private or unlisted. This way it is only available to you. Bookmark it or save the information so you don't lose it!

To create a Free space Profile go up to the drop down menus top right of every page > Add > New Thing.

Great thanks! I thought it might be possible but didn't know how.
Thanks for answering, Mags. Just so it's clear: Free-Space Profiles aren't Person Profiles. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Free-Space_Profile

Also, there is a link on your watchlist page right under the boxes for Activity, Anniversaries, etc that will take you to all of your Free Space pages.

I have Free Space pages for both my maternal and paternal lineages. I like to keep pictures there and just link to them in the appropriate biographies so they're not cluttering up the profile page.

There are all sorts of things you can do with Free Space pages. Have fun experimenting, Matthew!
