Clerke vs Clark

I am reviewing this line for the Magna Carta project and wanted to know what the consensus was on the LNAB for these profiles. They are randomly interspersed with Clark, Clarke, and Clerke, with many being project protected. Any recommendation from someone who has access to both MedLands and Richardson? Thanks!

MedLands is online - see http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/Search.htm

Richardson uses Clarke for the heading but "Clerke (or Clarke)" for George b in 1510. So by Richardson, Clerke-24 is correct. Richardson has just Clerke for George's father James; Clerke (or Clarke) for George's son James; Clerke for grandson William. For gr-grand it's just Clarke: "[Mr.] Jeremy (or Jeremiah) Clarke ... baptized... 1 Dec. 1605. He married about 1637 Frances Latham..."

Based on that, I'd be inclined to go with Clerke for everyone until Jeremy's children, who would be Clarke. However, looking at George's descendants, it looks like most everyone of Jeremy's generation is Clarke, so I think it might be prudent to let them stay. Maybe just worry about the stray Clark?

Cheers, Liz

Thank you! I was struggling to find that link for some reason. I'll leave everything along for the time being and make a note on the Clark LNAB.

Thanks for the question. Also have been working on this line and been slowed by the Clerke-Clarke-Clark issue.

A slightly side issue, I have noted usually "William" is used but I have seem "Willam" in same text (referring to same person).
