The Monkey was like that of a Spider Monkey, contained in a appropriate sized cage that was placed on top of the fridge or icebox, back in 1962. I doubt it very much at there was more than just this Foster Home with said critter in a cage where food was prepared and ate their meals..more than 15 children were housed there but, where is there? I remember it was located out in the country/farming community ! Oxford Mills, Ontario maybe ??
Did people own such an exotic pet back in 1962 in Canada?

Are you trying to find family?
Yes! My eldest brother & I were placed there between marriages, also another boy child was born between us, possibly Records of all the children taken in by this couple!
My mother has told me several times through the years, that this place was in Oxford Mills which is south of Kemptville south of Ottawa, Ont. and She referred to this Foster Home as Old Lady Barber's
54 yrs later, shocked beyond comprehension, through the help of strangers learn that my mother has not completely told the truth! Someone else must remembers this Foster Home especially if it had an Exotic Monkey as a Pet
Jo-Anne, Try editing your original post up top and add the tag adoption_angels. There might be someone in that project who can offer help.

You've given a lot of clues!
