Surname list resort [closed]

Question

Why is it necessary to resort the table to view more tools for Wiki Genealogists in the Surname list?

Could it not be added to the main screen, is there a specific reason why it is done this way?

Hi Esme,

We twist ourselves in circles to make surname index pages load more quickly. It's important for new visitors and Google's search indexing. And to conserve on our own server resources.

We now use a very complicated combination of pre-built pages, cached pages, and dynamic pages.

Note that almost all the same links are also available on the pull-down menu item that starts with the surname.

Thanks for the quick response. I knew there would be a reason for it, the larger surname lists do take quite a while to load especially if you select view 5 000.
