Mistake in Tanguay

Louis Auger(-17) is listed as son of Jean Auger(-110) and Louise Grisard(-3) with Tanguay as source. PRDH and Jetté do not support this family connection. Jean and Louise brought along a son Louis born about 1651 from Chemiré-en-Charnie, no documented marriage and descendants. Auger-17 is listed with no known parents, born around 1664 from Saintes.

In my opinion Auger-17 needs to be disconnected from his parents and a new Louis Auger with a birthdate of about 1651 needs to be added instead.

I agree this one needs to be disconnected from those parents, there is no evidence to support his being their child.  I have entered data I found on him and his marriage in his profile.  As for creating a replacement son for Jean Auger dit Baron and Louise Grisard, that's up to you.

If Tanguay does not list full dates and places there is a good possibility he has erred.

For the earliest generations (since I don't subscribe to Ancestry or PRDH) I check Denis Beauregard's site (he does source his info, including PRDH).
