AR is the state of Arkansas.  My grandfather, Andrew Jackson Davis was born 9/26/1863.  Per his death certificate his death was 8/24/1938.  he was 74 years old ...almost 75years.  I know he was married to my grandmother, Lucy Nancy Jane Naomi Huey.  I believe he was originally married to Clare.  I would like to find what Clare's last name was and if they had the child, Earl C. Davis. I found Earl C. listed as a son in the 1930 census. Earl was 41 which is noted as the same age as Lucy. Thank you for you attention to this matter. I am learning about this site so I apologize if I am not doing these correctly.

DAVIS MET TRAGIC END SATURDAY Son Of "Little Jack" Davis Killed By Train; Burial in Dallas Cemetery Remains of Earl C. Davis, a former resident of Mena who was killed Saturday by a train near Conway, were returned here Monday for burial at Dallas cemetery. The young man, a member of a pioneer Polk county family, and a son of "Little Jack" Davis, former county official, was a veteran of the A.E.F. and his service in the World War was in a measure responsible for his untimely death. The body was brought to Mena on the "Flying Crow" Monday morning and escorted to the Beasley Funeral Home to await burial, which took place at 10 A.M. Services were in charge of the Rev. John T. Barr of Norman, Arkansas. The pallbearers were fellow service men and members of Frank Fried post, American Legion, and consisted of Harry Anderson, Fred Philpot, Duke Frederick, Arthur Means, Paul Dorsett, and Argus Rowe. Relatives who came to Mena for the burial included the young soldier's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davis of Glenwood, Arkansas; two brothers, Jesse Davis of Paris, Arkansas, and Berry Davis of Norman; Mrs. Jesse Davis; Mrs. Berry Davis and daughter Mrs. Dalsy Jacque; Mr. and Mrs. S.F. You are amazing!  You found my Dad's half brother, Earl.  Do you have any information on Earl's two brothers, Jessie J. Davis and Berry H. Davis.  Their mom was Clara F. Davis.  Also, Andrew Jackson Davis second marriage was to my grandmother, Lucy Huey Vaught Davis.  She had a boy and girl from her first marriage to David Vaught.  I would love some info on David too at your convenience.

When William Jackson "Jack" Davis was born on April 23, 1838, in Rising Fawn, Georgia, his father, William, was 50 and his mother, Margaret, was 34. He married Isabella Vaught and they had three children together. He then married Alice Davis and they had seven children together. He died on February 10, 1919, in Mena, Arkansas, at the age of 80, and was buried there.When Isabella Vaught was born on January 1, 1844, her father, John, was 22 and her mother, Sarah H Austin, was 19. She married William Jackson "Jack" Davis in 1861. She had three children by the time she was 24. She died as a young mother in 1874 in Polk County, Arkansas, at the age of 30.
