Yes, it was! My grandmother served in the US Army Nurse Corps during WWII.

I love this photo!  It makes me wonder what she's thinking.  Is she exhausted after Thanksgiving dinner?  Daydreaming about some cute guy?  Just found out that she's pregnant and wondering about the future of her baby?  So many possible stories.
