G2G: Help!! Newbie question

Second day on the site, so a real nubie.  I uploaded maybe 8 select people from and extensive, detailed tree I have elsewhere.  I wanted to see what came into the Wiki for those people.  Before I could get there someone added stuff in the -- I guess their profiles or pages, I don't understand all this yet, but the new data has errors and mistypes and odd connections  I would have filled in the correct data when I got to see the original upload of my gedcom.  Now what do I do?  Seems like it will be endless work if there are poor entries added into those pages.  I need some help!!

Please give us a profile ID, like this:  Pray-208, for a profile where you think there's a problem. I looked at one on your part of the tree and all I saw was what you'd added.

I'm pretty sure that what you are seeing (I looked at the open profiles) is what got imported with the gedcom. You can check this by looking for the changes tab (like a tab on a file folder) clicking on it and it will tell you exactly what's been done to the profile. Like this:  Virginia (Pray) Roarabaugh imported the data for Joseph Butrick from Roarabaugh, Pray, Butrick, Dunne _2016-04-06.ged.

Now you see why gedcom import is not always a great idea, but it shouldn't take long to fix 8 people. The data and connections are pretty generally as correct as the data that was in your gedcom. It's the other "stuff" that gets messy and it's now a lot neater than it used to be.
