Actual, male-line Plantagenets? There's some DNA controversy over this as the five tested male-line descendants of Henry Somerset, 5th duke of Beaufort did not match the skeleton of Richard III, and indeed, one of the Somersets didn't even match his four Somerset "cousins". For the record, Richard III's YDNA was G2 and four out of the five Somersets were R1b.
To get to the bottom of all this we really need to DNA test more of the known Plantagenet skeletons.
The duke of Beaufort was descended in the male line from John Beaufort, 1st earl of Somerset, who was himself the eldest son of John of Gaunt (son of Edward III) and his mistress, Katherine Swynford. It's quite possible, even likely, that John Beaufort's biological father was Hugh Swynford, Katherine's husband, and his descendants are in fact not male-line Plantagenets at all.
