I manage a number of profiles. Some I have spent a lot of time on and am proud of. Others I uploaded with a Gedcom and haven't had a chance to go back and clean up -- and they show it. Unsourced, unedited, shall I say unintelligent -- in short, crap.
One of the joys of WikiTree is that non WikiTree people who browse the pages can contact me through WikiTree when they find something of interest. Often they provide more information; we can put things together and both of our research is stronger. It's a win-win all around.
And you know what? It's the profiles that are full of information, well researched, well documented, that make those connections. I've never gotten a note that says, "I notice you have crap. I have crap, too. Do you want to trade notes?"
In case it still needs to be said, this is a strong plug for taking the extra time to research, document and expand those profiles!
