Also note that when you add your family you will be connecting to one shared tree. As we go back in time, we share more ancestors.

Like any online tree, the information on WikiTree is only as good as the sources.  Unlike most sites, WikiTree has a concerted effort to source and prove every connection.  Still many connections were created by unsourced and flawed gedcoms, so you still need to be cautious.  If you add data from WikiTree to your own personal tree, you should evaluate the sources used and decide for yourself the confidence of the information.

If you find any errors, please fix them and add your sources.  That is what WikiTree is all about.

Hear Hear!  Remember, there is no better online genealogy community than WikiTree.  We celebrate when folks find and correct errors.  You will find many here ready to help you check and verify sources.  So, if things look questionable or you just do not have that level of confidence you desire, bring the issue to G2G and you will get many opinions and possibly, great new sources.
