100 Years ago, my Martin Family had a reunion in Allen County, Indiana. My grandfather, great grandfather and great grandmother,  and my maternal gg grandparents are in this photo, along with a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.

I wanted to share this family photo of Nat's Photo Repository with the community. Location: Allen County, Indiana, USA. Date: unknown.

My maiden/family surname was/is Martin and my paternal as well as my maternal ancestors emigrated from France to Canada; then, to the US in the mid-1930's!

Just ran a 'relationship to me' on WikiTree, and there is no known relationship between us; however, that could change.

Good luck in your investigation!

Sincerely,

Jeannette (Martin-Brideau)
I love things like this! Who knows? One of my Martin cousins went to Sourans to see records and visit the area that Charles Martin came from. Gorgeous area.

My aunts are sure we're related to St. Therese (Little Flower) but it has not been proven by anyone. One genealogical researcher, the late Fr. Charles H Banet, with a step-relationship to the Martins casually mentioned to a Martin family member that thry shared the same last name as St. Therese and that was all it took to start a rumor.
OMG (to use a phrase I seldom use)! My Dad always said, and was 95% sure, that we are directly related to Ste. Theresa, the Little Flower!! His family came from France in the mid-1600's from the very same place Ste. Theresa was born. One of her father's name, or her grandfather's? name, was Stanislas - my father's middle name; but the name he was always know by, Stanley, Stan. The French, and the French in Canada, were named after their father; hence, my Dad's full name: Joseph Stanislaus (Stanley) Martin. I have been attempting to follow-through on our likely relationship to this family, with little success. Perhaps, it is being kept 'private', at least, that is my suspicion. There was a painting of Ste. Theresa in the back of our Church in Bridgeport, CT. One Sunday, perhaps a Church Holiday?, I had to wait in a long line to leave Church, and I studied this painting. Went home, and said to my Dad, "I swear, Ste. Theresa resembles many in our family." That is when he told me of his belief, and that he would love to know the history of his family's ancestry, especially in France.

Perhaps, we are related through Ste. Theresa's family? I will continue to search ...

Sincerely,

Jeannette (Martin-Brideau) Saladino
Wouldn't it be something!
Are there any known DNA matches to this line?
Not that I know of, but I hope to get going on that next year.

It says the photo was taken July 30, 1916.

A very nice picture of your ancestors.

Yes, July 30. And the cool thing is that some family members put their heads together and figured out almost ALL of the identities of these folks. A couple of us figured out who the woman in black was simply by comparing names and seeing who might be in mourning.
Also love the photo!

Sincerely,

Jeannette
