How do I put someone on my trusted CROLL list?

Question

Hope this is in the correct spot.  Have spent about 20 minutes looking at various items & cannot find how to put someone on my Croll list.  As they all seem to be more or less open as the most recent Croll is my G Grandmother is this necessargt?

Go to your profile page or the profile you are wanting to add some one to trusted list click the privacy tab scroll toward bottom to add to trusted list insert the e mail address of the person you want to add and click add.

I know this chap already has a tree, but wanted him to have access to all my Croll/Croal families.  Can you explain why I tried this but received the following message:

That e-mail address is already in use by Neil Croll. Please enter a different address or leave this field blank.
Living people cannot have profiles that are Public or Open.
