I am searching for info on John Simmons & Ella (perhaps Lillian) Myers and their children Charles, Edgar J., Frank, John G. Jr.  There was a 5th child born after Charles' birth in 1890 that passed away.

"United States Census, 1900," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M3M3-FMD : accessed 12 April 2016), Edgar Simens in household of John Simens, Esplen borough, Allegheny, Pennsylvania, United States; citing sheet 13B, family 262, NARA microfilm publication T623 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 1,241,367.

This looks like them but there is no John Jr.  Was he much older?

Yes, that's the 1900 census I am working off of, but am trying to locate an 1890 census from Allegheny, PA that would also show this family.  I am looking for John as the "son of head-of-household" in PA since I do not have the parents names.  The census also shows his parents came from England, but I think that's just their departure to the US from Ireland.

John appears on the 1910 census at 4 years old, so approx birth around 1906.

I have ordered the certificate of marriage (and affidavit) from NY for Charles Simmons and Josephine Haney.  I am crossing my fingers that John and Ella are listed on there, and Ella is listed as Nellie .

I found their death certificates at ancestry.   Edgar is the informant on both. John is written as John Simmonds.  It says he was born in England and his father's name is George.

Ella's is also under Simmonds.  It says she was born in Brady's Benn, Pa. . Her father was Adam Meyers and her mother's last name was Bansel.

edit

and there is this census

"United States Census, 1880," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MW6G-TNL : accessed 12 April 2016), John Simmons in household of Geo Simmons, Gilpin, Armstrong, Pennsylvania, United States; citing enumeration district ED 1, sheet 2D, NARA microfilm publication T9 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.), roll 1095; FHL microfilm 1,255,095.
