Any relations to Kenneth E. Gustafson born 1928 in Pennsylvania

Question

Trying to do research on my father.  His birth date is June 5, 1928.  To the best of my knowledge he grew up in Eastern Pennsylvania;  I  have been told that he was raised by my grandmother, last name Heiber (sp). In the 1930 census he is listed as a grandson to John E. Gustafson and Racheal..  I understand that he ws enlisted in the army and served with the 82nd Airborne.  I have researched and researched and have come up with little information on his side of the family. It wasn't really discussed. I keep hitting dead ends. He did pass away in 2002 in Butler County, Pa.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In this census the text within the document shows Kenneth E. Gustafson as the great grandson of Rachel Gustafson. Considering that Rachel L. Gustafson is the grand daughter of Rachel Gustafson it can be assumed that the child would not stay far from his mother at one year of age.

I am assuming that Rachael L is the mother of Kenneth E.

Thank you for replying and taking the time to research this..I have this information,along with the  information the others provided. I also ran across a record of his Maraige license to my Mother, Marlene Janet Hazen.  It llisted his father as John E. Gustafson (Grandfather) from the census and Rachel L Weber (Grandmother) from the same census.  After Many hours of researching., I am hitting roadblocks as to any other information.I mainly used ancestory.com.  Found a lot of info on my mom and her descendants. But no  trail on my Dad.  He was raised by his Grandparents and I never did meet any of his  relatives, don't know why.  I guess it was a family secret that no one talked about.  I am now searching on family search and still nothing.  Not sure where else to look.. Any help or leads woulld be greatly appreciated.  .

Alrighty digging deeper into the 1930 census it says that Rachel L. Gustafson's age at first marriage was seventeen.

Perhaps she married into the family?
