What does it say about her the census records you find ? Where is the Isaac Family Cemetery ? By studying the people buried around her, you may find out more about her ancestry.
At least on the 1860 census, she--and her parents-- are identified as white
Rebecca Turnmire Chester is my great great grandmother. Nope, no Indian blood. It was a family whisper until we started actually doing research. Her heritage was Irish and German. She is buried with other family members in the Isaac family cemetery. Although I have no clue why her husband wasn’t buried with or near her. His grave is in the Chester family cemetery in Colletsville.

You can visit the National Archives (NARA). They keep records of accepted Indian names.

Mm... this link no longer works and I find no David or Rebecca Turnmire in familysearch's NC Marriages collection.

Ah ,here it is--- last name mis-indexed:

"North Carolina Marriages, 1759-1979," database, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F8TR-SB7 : 10 February 2018), Jesse A.J. Chester and Rebecca Turnmin, 13 Oct 1869; citing Caldwell, North Carolina, reference ; FHL microfilm 0590352 V. 1-5.

I've added profiles for the parents.
